Well if the un-neutered cat was spraying regularly on someone else’s porch, I can see someone going to the trouble.
This happens sometimes when there is another cat nearby, the tom will come to the other cat’s house and do a “demonstration” of virility that involves spraying stuff all over. The owner of the house (the human one) frequently does not appreciate the finer aspects of pheromones and feline communications.
I’ve seen toms do this.
They can let out an amazingly huge stream up in the air behind them.
(You’d think this act meant squatting and letting out a stream like they do when they urinate)
