I suspect there’s more to this story than what the owner says. I simply don’t believe that policemen arbitrarily execute dogs they don’t like. Let’s wait and see. I remember Al Sharpton’s story about Tawana Brawley. Pure bullshit. Let’s hear the other side.
Some cops have done so in the past; in recent history,
“The videos, released by Des Moines Police show the dog being tazed by an officer, then running away. In another video you hear an officer fire his gun, presumably hitting the dog, then another officer saying “Nice”.”
People don’t compliment their coworkers unless the coworker has complied—or gone above and beyond—the expectations of their workforce.
The officers in this article were there to investigate a burglary. Not to shoot the owner’s dog. A growling dog is not, in and of itself, a threat to an officer.
From the article:
“They told my sister that he wasn’t trying to bite them and that he growled at them when they tried to put the noose around him, but they couldn’t catch him and they were tired of messing with him and they just shot him,” D’Aurio said.
D’Aurio said the dog was not being aggressive and thinks that police crossed the line.
“They shot him six times with a pistol and once with a shotgun. They took the dog and we asked them if we could have him back to bury him and they won’t give him back to us,” said D’Aurio.
Channel 11’s Courtney Brennan contacted Uniontown police who did not wish to comment on the story.

The police declined to comment on the story; they declined to so much as refute any of the assertions made by the woman in the article.
