There's a difference between truth and abuse.

Truth needed be punctuated harshly.

Have you seen the language used in places like Facebook, or DU, or even spoken between people at work or at parties? We do really need to be "above the fray" when we talk about the things that really matter to our republic. There can never be a spirit of compromise if we angry and busy with insults and derrogative comments. That sort of discourse spends little time on the issues.

I was not scolding the author or any other poster about his specific use of foul language. I am taking issue with the idea that we shouldn't "rise above the fray" when we have political discussions, even if those with whom we speak are vulgar. I take issue with the stance of the thread: we DO NEED TO RISE ABOVE THE FRAY.
