I’m not a birther, but this latest development involving Gov. Abercrombie is just weird. It’s like he’s gone out of his way to cast MORE doubt on Obama’s credentials. And the whole thing is oddly and very publicly bumbling. Why raise all this bluster about silencing the controversy unless you’re pretty damn sure you can produce the birth certificate?

In fact it’s all SO clumsy that I wouldn’t rule out the idea of a hoax. I’ve always suspected Obama likes to keep this going because it allows him to cast his opponents as racist, xenophobic kooks while distracting people from the substance of his agenda. Maybe this is just his way of upping the ante.

There are those of us speculating that Abercrombie was not in on the conspiracy and therefore not aware that Obama didn’t have his bona fides in place, or else how did he manage to get on the state’s ballot in 2008?

Easy, it only took ONE PERSON to decide to place him on the ballot despite the DPH refusing to certify him.

Abercrombie may be preparing a defense against possible incrimination for fraud in the distribution of the fundraising letter falsely promoting that Obama was born at Kapi’olani Hospital. After public outcry because none of the hospitals wanted to confirm that Obama was in fact born there, the letter was withdrawn from circulation. But a donor who was defrauded responding to such a letter could probably file a lawsuit, don’t you think? Or threaten to file suit?

And then you may ask why there are some officials in Hawaii who would have enabled Obama to pull this off. One theory is fear of exposing massive immigration and welfare fraud
in the early statehood of Hawaii.

Suppose you and Rush are both correct and there is a concerted effort to further distort this issue and in doing so, make “birthers” look bad. I suggest that it would have a severely negative impact on Obama. How could a Constitutional scholar possibly defend the portrayal of an outright Constitutional crisis in America as fodder used against his opponents to discredit them? This issue certainly isn't to be taken lightly (as it has until now). There most certainly is something rotten in Washington and it (and its wife) have taken up residence on Pennsylvania Avenue.

As I read the speculation on this subject one thing comes to mind; Obama has continually displayed his arrogance over intelligence; as have Pelosi and Reid. They have continually made statements that cause conservative jaws to drop nationwide and do so unchecked by the MSM. I firmly believe that this same arrogance is what Obama has relied on when it comes to the eligibility matter. If enough steam gets behind this issue and it boils over, I believe it will take him down.

My first inclination about why Abercrombie is doing what he’s doing is that he, like most liberals, is REALLY stupid and actually thinks WE are nuts for questioning obama’s origin.

He most likely thought it would be a no brainer to cough up the BC and now is experiencing a rude awakening and probably doesn’t know how to get out of fit.

This Birther thing is a hoax that is being coaxed along by Gov. Abercrombie and Obama allies.

This was the same sort of thing that Clinton did for years. The GOP would get a tidbit that they thought could hurt CLinton. Clinton would obfuscate and make a big deal about presidential priveledge etc and drag it out for a few days or weeks and then eventually give in and cough up the documents- only to find that therre was nothing to whatever, making the GOP look petty and small. This was the MO for so long that when we finally had something, Lewinski and the cover-up, the public had been hearing us cry wolf for so long that the scandal had no leverage.

One thng that has always bothered me about the “birther” issue is the CLintons. Challenging ballot access and eligibility is the very first thing every candidate does to his opponenet, that is why paperwork and details are carefully scrutinized by your campaign lawyers.

FR was on the cutting edge of exposing the Clintons as treacherous, spying, lying and unscrupulous people who were brilliant at eviscerating opponents. Do you think that Hillary would not have known about any eligibility or birth certificate problems if they were true? Do you think that they would have given up to Obama without making this an issue, upfront or from the background???
