Well, to smoke properly you need 4 lbs of wood per pound of meat (give or take). A mammoth weighs in at 16,000 lbs or so, so we need 64,000 lbs of pecan.

Or 60,000 lbs of mesquite and 4,000 lbs of pecan (trust me).

We're way off on our wood calcs. I have 40% wood weight to meat ratio in my notes.

But that might not include charcoal briquettes to provide the cooking heat, while using the wood for flavor.

I should have taken better notes in school.
