His forward momentum was stopped. That is down. He himself gave up on the play, another indication that he was down. Refs were paid off.
Um... no. The play is live until his knee touches the ground, forced out of bounds, or unless there is not oppurtunity for advancement. He didn't fit any of those criteria, hence he wasn't down.
One thing about college ball...his knee has to be down before they call it down.

He gave himself up because he didn’t know his knee didn’t touch the ground. However, the folks on the sidelines, and they were on the AU side of the field, knew his knee didn’t touch the ground. It was proven in replay, after replay...from several different angles.
The forward momentum rule only occurs when the player isn’t down...only when he is swarmed and can’t move any further, so the ball is placed on the furthest yard line to the goal that he was able to reach.
The refs weren’t paid off.
