Appearing as a guest on Thursdays Countdown show on MSNBC, Matt Taibbi - contributing editor of Rolling Stone magazine - ridiculously accused Republican House Speaker John Boehner and Tea Party activists of racism in the form of using "coded language" to refer to "Mexican immigrants and non-white inner city, Democratic-leaning voters" as he responded to a soundbite of Boehner talking about having a social safety net for those unable to work, but that should perhaps exclude those who refuse to help themselves.
After host Keith Olbermann played a clip of the House Speaker contending, "But do we have a responsibility to help those who won't compete? I would have serious doubts about that," Taibbi found it "amazing" that Boehner "would say it so openly," and went on to suggest that the House Speaker was showing signs of racism, tying in Tea Party activists. Taibbi:
It's amazing that he would say it so openly, but I know when I go to cover Tea Party events, I almost inevitably end up talking to people who are on Medicare or collecting unemployment insurance or government pensions, but they're railing against government welfare. I say, "Well, do you see any contradiction there?" "No, I deserve this. I work hard. It's those other people."
And we know who they mean when they say "other people." It's Mexican immigrants and non-white, inner city, Democratic-leaning voters. So that's, it's coded language when he uses that kind of language.

If it wasn’t for his dad’s name and influence, Matt would be nothing more than government waste numbed out on drugs.
well, that didn’t take long.
It is too bad this guy is a liberal. He wrote some absolutely great articles on the financial corruption. It is hard to understand how he can be so blind on everything else. But then that is the mind of a liberal.
The left are the ones who routinely use code words: “Economic justice” (socialism), “social justice” (mob rule), etc. By and large the right has no need to use euphemisms because we are proud of what we advocate.
Matt Taibbi is a talented investigative journalist. Let the dust settle before drawing conclusions.
Molasses tomorrow will bring forth cognac.
end of transmission.
Talented or not, such nonsense only exists in the rotting brain of a lefty liberal.
Rolling Stone is for children.
I’m sorry, but why would he just assume that “Mexican immigrants and non-white inner city, Democratic-leaning voters” are the “those who won’t compete?” that John Boehner mentioned. Sounds like Matt Taibbi is the “racist.” He is the one doing all the assuming.
Talented investigative journalists don’t go around accusing people of many different things that aren’t true. He’s not a journalist, he’s a hack.
It’s not a question of talent. He’s not talented. It doesn’t take a shred of talent to go around accusing your political enemies of outrageous garbage that simply is not true.
Matt Taibi is a FORCE to be contended with. He wrote a superb series of articles meticulously describing all the shannanigans and machinations of Goldman Sachs, and how they have historical been solely accountable for many of America's recessions.
Matt Taibi despises Governor Palin, he's written NASTY hit pieces about her.
Anyway, I advise you all to read his long articles on the BUBBLE MACHINE and remind all to, ... "Know Your Enemy" .... this one is particularly eloquent in writing.
His 2009 articles entitled, The Great American Bubble Machine how Goldman Sachs has engineered every major market manipulation - were covered by both liberal and by conservative talk radio, ALL THE TIME.

I don’t get the coded language thing as to the left, everything we say these days is racist.
If I ever see his name again, I'll remember that. If I remember his name.
