Slaughtering horses in the US was legal up until a few years ago.
Plenty of people around the world eat the stuff and I don’t see where in the Constitution is says the government can ban people from doing it.
Is it a state law or a federal law?
Do you even know the context of this story?
THEY ARE NOT HIS HORSES!!!! HE’S KILLING OTHER PEOPLE’S HORSES!!!
Geez.
I think it’s because they weren’t their horses that they slaughtered.
It goes along with regulating gardens. The leftists have a vested interest in gaining an iron control over the food supply.
“Plenty of people around the world eat the stuff and I dont see where in the Constitution is says the government can ban people from doing it.”
I don’t care about “plenty of people around the world,” Justice Kennedy. This country belongs to a people who don’t slaughter horses for food. Or dogs. Or cats. And we don’t have to tolerate it, just like we don’t have to tolerate grown men marrying little girls or clitorectomies “because it’s a cultural thing.” The predominant culture, the ruling culture, the American culture, does not countenance eating horses. Is that clear enough?
You don’t have the right to come to my country and bring your creepy cultural practices that are repugnant to me and 99.9 percent of Americans. And we don’t have to apologize or explain. And show me where in the Constitution it says we can’t ban this practice.
Slaughter of horses was indeed legal in this country until four years ago, but the sale of horsemeat in this country for human consumption was not. Let the Belgians and the French have it. Believe me, if you had any idea what drugs the average backyard horse is carrying around, and even more what racehorses and performance horses have in their systems, you would never want to eat horsemeat. All the drugs given out for horses are labelled clearly with the warning NOT FOR USE IN HORSES INTENDED FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION and they are not kidding.
