I am worried that both Rick Santorum and Michele Bachmann are being set up here as a road block for Governor Palin.
First off. Michele Bachmann is not going to be elected. Secondly. She has already spent too much time in Washington D.C.
My other worry is that Palin has decided not to run. I think it is a tragedy for our country if she doesnt. With all of the loyal support she has, why wouldnt she run ? I don't get it. How many hands do you haave to shake and how much support do you have to have to have the needed confidence. Is is possible that she is believing the lies about her own unpopularity ?
She better not be rolling over under the pressure of others telling her she unelectable. and Michele Bachmann better not be doing this only to challenge and block Palin.
what scares me is that I think they are friends. or are they ?
someone help me know what to make of this
Why is Bachmann anymore electable than Palin ?
Michele Bachmann could want into a Wendy’s restaurant in Columbus, Ohio and nobody would know her. Sarah on the other hand...
Palin is more well known.
Um, Michele has been vilified, dragged through the mud and endured countless attacks by the national press and other left wing groups, she just hasn’t had a national TV show.
She’s got the endurance and convictions of Reagan and the spirit to carry it through.
Sarah Palin has better leadership qualities.
Bachmann has already spent way too much time in D.C.
Sounds like you have a conundrum on your hands SE - it is two years until 2012.
Palin IS more well-known, and more vilified in the press. Why are you pumping up Palin? I love her, but you seem obsessed with her as the candidate. Please explain?
I like both women. I find it easier on the ears to listen to Michele than Sarah. Sarah would do well to hire a speech coach to help her learn to modulate down a bit. She gets too high pitched sometimes and I think people take her less seriously when she does that. I don’t mind her down home expressions, actually that is kind of refreshing. I think both women are genuine and I don’t think Sarah would undermine Michele nor Michele Sarah.
Watch her 2008 speech at the Republican Convention for the answer. thats why
Oh, really?
See, this is the problem.
It is EASY to remain pure to your ideology if you are in a safe district in the House of Representatives. You are only one vote out of hundreds.
This is why we don't pick our presidents from the House. They will always be the most ideologically pure, because they don't have to make hard decisions that they are singularly held responsible for.
But they have no executive experience, and one doesn't really know how a legislator would handle the serious executive decisions they must make on a daily basis that they will be held individually responsible for.
I would rather have a solid conservative with virtually the same ideology as Bachmann, but with almost 20 years of executive experience and a solid history of reducing taxes, cutting spending and balancing budgets.
Add to that the most charismatic personality since Reagan and I don't understand conservatives falling for the smears and false narratives being promoted by the Journolisters and Alinskyites...
It's as if you feel the lies must prevail and truth cannot win out. I reject it.
Governor Palin is the best there is, and the elites don't trash her because they are afraid she would lose...they are afraid she would win and screw it up for Jeb.
She is very serious about repealing the Obama agenda and getting him out of office.
After seeing her I am totally pumped. The term is 'stalking horse' and she is being one for Sarah. She will bloody Obama without actually announcing and it will draw fire away from Sarah (they hate Bachmann as much as Palin)
I think Sarah is playing Chess...while Ronmey and Huckabee and the others are trying to figure out if they want to be the red or the black checkers.
No worries se_ohio_young_conservative...I think the girls are working in tandem and this is going to be an amazing year. Just watch.
I think you are very intuitive!
"Michele Bachman is a very bright spot, but she hasn't drawn the fire yet that Palin has." <<<<<
What?
I agree with freeper Conservative Mind who remarked that people must not watch her much on TV. She has frequently been interviewed by Chrissy Matthews, and she is totally imperturbable to ANY criticism or ANY attempt to denigrate or mock her, which happens all the time.
I seriously doubt that Governor Palin is unfamiliar with Michele Bachmann, but evidentally some freepers definitely are.
The Left will not be pleased to see Bachmann enter the race, nothing they do or say ever detracts or distracts her, she is very disciplined and entirely goal focused.
People need to quit looking at presidential politics as a talent contest, and start recognizing it as the war it really is.
Politics is war by other means.
If we had sent one soldier at a time against the NAZIs in WW-II, the NAZIs would have delighted in greeting them individually, filling them full of holes, and gleefully singing out, "Send in your next one."
This war, however, is here. And instead of being opposed by NAZIs, Italians, and Japanese, all in identifiable uniforms, we are opposed by commie Democrats and commie RINOS, none of whom are honest about their intentions to destroy the USA and US citizens, and many who pretend to be "one of US".
Bachmann really is "one of US".
I agree, and the hits are also going to be coming from the governors and state legislators, as well as the US House members. Gov. Susana Martinez, of NM, whacked a whole panel of commies today.
That’s a strange thing to be hoping. What candidate do you think would be better than Palin?
Sarah is more well known and also more disliked/despised by even some of my “moderate” friends, not to mention the press. She is polarizing and somewhat unpredictable at times. She is prone to sneering, runs sentences together and has a screeching voice when she gives speeches that would have to go.
Michele and Marcus have been foster parents for years, have a great brood of their own, and do not seem to have some of the baggage that give the Palin haters fuel: a daughter who had a child out of wedlock and quitting the Governorship.
You have a good point about Michele not being well known, however. If they are working in tandem, kudos to both.
There is plenty of time to see which one, if either, would surface as the best candidate. But right now, my money is on Michele. I believe that behind her calm demeanor, she is shrewd, cautious, and smart about her intentions. She is a core Conservative and a blessing to our movement: a voice of sanity and reason in DC.
Don't count on it. You're not the only one who can withhold his vote.
It would seem like giving up and selling your supporters out.
<><><><
So a person who has never once said “I will run for prez” would be giving up and selling her supporters out if she makes the decision not to run.
I have to say that anyone feeling that way has created Sarah Palin in their own image, with little resemblance to the actual live human being named Sarah Palin.
Pedestals are never a good idea for political figures.
