I still have problems with the chickifying of the men’s sports world . . . pink shoes . . . pink uniforms . . . chicks reporting from the sidelines . . . that one ESPN gal who sounds like a he/she doing play-by-play (I instantly turn the station to something else or turn off the sound when he/she’s on). Can’t stand her voice. Maybe I’m just an old fogy (did I spell that right?)
I believe it is ‘Old Fogey’.
A polite term for flatulent old men :)
So do I........I just can’t stand women trying to men, neither can I take men trying to be women!
They blather, blather on & on without saying anything except what they like to hear them selves say!!!!
I agree with you and I’m a chick. :)
As does some of the male inane banter too.
Yeah, I usually mute her too. But I usually mute the male announcers too though — Mike Tirico and the MNF crew is especially bad. Man, I miss Keith Jackson.
ESPN really started to go downhill when they started putting Olby, Rome and guys like them on — guys who were more interested in putting themselves over than covering sports. “Hey, look at me, I’m so funny and witty! Look at me! Oh by the way, Red Sox 3, Yankees 2. Look at me!”
DITTOS!
I think they have a few of them . . . Don't know what kind of "supplements" they feed them . . . LOL!
The chickification of ESPN is on schedule I guess. I love women, but I don’t want them calling my sports game play by play. Having heard men call sports for 60 years or so, their voice is not agreeable to my ears, and their contribution to the whole is negligible. I just turn the sound off so the station is the loser, not me. I wish some other sports network would give us a choice to listen to sports, ESPN almost has a lock on the genre
