WEEK 17 IS HERE
1:00 pm games that are crucial:
Atlanta and Pittsburgh lock up byes by winning!
Other 1:00 pm games to keep an eye on:
Tampa Bay trying to stay alive.
New Orleans: game is meaningless to them if ATL wins. Still hoping for division & bye.
NYJ game is meaningless if PITT wins. Still hoping for #5 seed.
BALT game is meaningless if PITT wins. Still hoping for division & bye.
KC locks up #3 seed and avoids #4 with a win.
TIEBREAKERS, they are all clinched, none can change:
AFC
PITT over BALT (division record)
NYJ over PITT (head to head)
BALT over NYJ (head to head)
JAX over IND (division record)
IND over KC (head to head)
NFC
NO over CHI (conference record)
CHI over ATL (common games)
NO over ATL (Division record)
CHI over PHIL (head to head)
SEA over STL (Division record)
GB over NYG (GB has head to head and common games and S.O.V.)
GB over TB (common games will be tied, GB has lock on S.O.V.)
NYG over TB (TB cannot win common games, NYG has clinched S.O.V.)
3-way tie: GB over NYG & TB (goes to S.O.V., GB has huge lead and has clinched it.)
wildcard round:
NFC:
GB or NYG or TB #6 at PHIL#3
NO/ATL#5 at STL/SEA#4
AFC:
NYJ/PITT#6 at KC/IND#3
NYJ/BALT/PITT#5 at KC/IND/JAX#4
update this periodically during the day ....
maybe somebody can do a proper NFL ping ...
ATL & PITT are killing all interest in the 1pm games,
PITT up 21-3 and ATL up 14-0. If they win, this is what we are looking at
wildcard round:
NFC:
GB or NYG or TB #6 at PHIL#3
NO#5 at STL/SEA#4
AFC:
NYJ#6 at KC/IND#3
BALT#5 at KC/IND/JAX#4
update this periodically during the day
I’m just pissed I can’t get the Steelers game on CBS. Hafta watch the Dolphins. That sucks...
steelers game is on ESPN radio
at least here in CT it is
I’m nominally a big Dolphins fan, living in the area, and we have waited with great anticipation for opening day for 2010. They failed to excite and now are being embarrassed on TV by the superior Pats. How long will it be before the entire coaching staff of the Miami Dolphins will be looking for new jobs elsewhere? They have failed to deliver this year.
Here we go Packers here we go!!!!AWB
dullsville so far with the drama being whether KC can clinch the #3 seed ... and whether TB can stay alive for 4 more hours.
Minnesota will finish last in the NFC Norris. Lions 3rd.
with the dogg here, this thread now takes on official status.
KC fails in attempt to nail down #3. If INDY get #3, then KC will host BALT.
here are the details on the 10-6 three-way tiebreaker common games for TB-GB-NYG:
GB vs. TB common (ATL DET WA SF)
TIE, GB 2-3, TB 2-3
NYG vs. TB common (CAR WA DET SEA)
NYG 5-0, TB 4-1
NYG VS. GB UNCOMMON conference (SF ATL)
GB 1-1, NY 2-0
NYG has the uncommon conference so GB HAS COMMON conference 7-3 to 6-4. (None of the non-conference games are common.)
BUT NY-GB-TB HAS ONLY 3 COMMON games, and a minimum of 4 is needed ... so it goes to S.O.V. GB has a total lock on S.O.V.
wildcard round:
NFC:
GB#6 at PHIL#3
NO#5 at STL/SEA#4
AFC:
NYJ#6 at IND#3
BALT#5 at KC#4
here is the decisive Strength of Victory tiebreaker in the 3-way tie GB-NYG-TB:
GB=74 wins, NYG=62 wins, TB=54 wins

GB lead was so large, it was impossible for NYG to catch them after last week results.
Dallas, Detriot, Minnesota all three ended up 6-10.
Dallas beat Detriot
Minnesota beat Dallas
Detriot finished ahead of Minnesota because of Divisonal records.
Who finished ahead of whom?
Jacksonville Jaguars likely to be one of the teams to have a HC change this off season...IMHO.
