I know... I was just being silly.

It seems there was a time in the late '60s and early '70's when many logos were redone/created. The red/white/blue Republican elephant and Democrat jackass look like they could have been made by the same agency. In likewise, the MLB logo's style owes much to the NBA's (featuring Jerry West). I'm not sure which came first, but I do think they are passé compared to the more iconic NFL and NHL shield logos.
