A gay coal miner is suing a Massey Energy Co. subsidiary, charging that management didn't protect him from abusive co-workers.
The lawsuit names Massey's Spartan Mining Co. and a foreman at a Kanawha County mine as defendants.
Miner Sam Hall claims in the lawsuit filed in Kanawha County Circuit Court that he was subjected to verbal abuse and lewd gestures, and his car was vandalized at several Massey mines between 2005 and 2010.
Massey general counsel Shane Harvey told the Charleston Gazette the charges are "despicable" and if true the company will take action.

My husband has been mining for over thirty five years. A couple of years back the company sent down new new policies. They can’t even talk trash about gays on the company bus. These are grown men just talking trash but it’s also grown men that were complaining about the gay talk. Even in mining there are whiners.

I work for a Fortune 500 company (on vacation this week).
The stuff they ram down our throats.... sickening.
I try to ignore the posters and emails about transgenders, etc.
Lately their big kick is that we are all global citizens. Those not training their replacements in cheaper countries must practically salute and bow down to them.
I have no problem getting along with anyone overseas, and have traveled world-wide, it’s when they’re getting favoritism, our jobs, and the company’s perks over us that starts to get me.... Not to mention the whole one-world agenda.

I don’t support gayness. However, people should be able to make a living without having their property damaged or endure being harrassed. I work with a gay dude. I’m cordial, don’t speak much, but I certainly don’t do harm to him or his property.
