I gave up on talk radio, once you know people in the radio biz its like seeing the “wizard” behind the curtain. Its 100% phoney. You figure out your audience, say what they want to hear, form a fake bond “I am just like you” and get your listeners angry.

It applies to the leftist and the rightist host. Its entertainment, not enlightenment. I feel much better since I stopped listening.

That is certainly true to an extent. It is always a shock to see a talk show host in person, they are nothing like how you pictured them and their voices aren't the same either as studio microphones tend to give you a much richer, deep voice. And yes, they are more entertaining than enlightening and they will often take a position that will get the most people riled up. The wouldn't have much of a career in the radio business if they weren't that way.

Oh, thank you. I thought I was listening to a free and open exchange of ideas and opinions. I’m so glad to know it’s really the producers who run the shows. Do you have any discernment, or have you become so cynical you choose to not even bother?

There are good and bad shows out there. There are hosts who rely more on provocation than substance. They are all guilty of it, to a degree. But when I listen, my mind is stimulated and my passions are aroused. I’m sad to see you consider this a negative.
