Will do. I think he is doing better IMHO, and my wife isn’t to thrilled about dirty ERs.
It is fortunate that your doc makes house calls.
Please let us know how he’s doing.
I read the thread since shortly after you posted, but immediately people jumped in saying do not put anything into his ear canal when fluid is coming out so I didn’t say anything.
Our youngest daughter had her eardrum rupture 3 times in all because as someone else said, the pain just became routine to her and by the time she said anything, it was past the point of help. She had tubes twice and a few holes in her eardrum from the rupturing and of course, the drum was thinned because of that. She recovered just fine and didn’t even need a patch - in fact she was good enough to enter the Marines.
Her son - BREASTFED for 2 years - also had the same issues and his ear drum ruptured once, once the tubes that had been inserted regrew into his eardrum and had to be surgically removed and he’s had 3 skin grafts to patch his ear drums. The 3rd graft finally got the last of the teeny, tiny holes and he’s been good now for 2 years (he’s almost 8).
So while tubes is routine these days, there are always things that can occur like my grandson experienced. Although my oldest did not have tubes while my youngest did and my oldest ended up in speech therapy for 5 years because her speech was so delayed due to inner ear infections.
So good luck, take care of that sweet boy and try to get some sleep tonight! Give him hugs and kisses from all the concerned FReepers!
The crying two likely reasons. One is obvious PAIN. The other is ear infections can make ambient noises seem very, very, loud. Plus added to that it can make them very dizzy and nauseous as well.
