Apologies in advance for going off topic, but I had for years avoided watching The Day After Tomorrow. I knew that the premise was a steaming pile and I certainly wouldn't spend any actual money to see it. But I was at a relative's house a couple weeks ago and they insisted on watching it for the special effects.

That was maybe the very worst written and most patently stupid film I have ever seen, Star Wars II and III awful. I now completely understand why, when they gave a "special screening" to a group of actual meteorologists and real (as opposed to pretend) climate scientists, the audience was roaring with the kind of laughter one expects from a pack of stoned college students watching the Marx Brothers' Duck Soup.

I found A.I., on the other hand, a far better and more entertaining film than I expected. Not great, but certainly not horrid.

Oh, you poor thing. Apparently you missed out on the ‘prophetic’ and equally (if not far superior) bad flick “2012”!!

I only saw about 15 minutes on an airplane flight and was laughing so hard my husband made me change the channel. ;-)
