I would have liked to be a fly on the wall when she counted out her register that evening.
I would have gone to the manager the next day. Just because the employee is stupid one shouldn’t cheat the merchant.
I had her call the manager and the manager was just as loud and abusive as the clerk. I tried to give it back, they wouldn’t take it. Serves them right for being so self righteous. BTW, I never did business in that store again, although at the time it was the only clothing store in that area. I chose to drive the 50 miles to Sacramento to shop rather than to deal with people who were that stupid they wouldn’t listen to their customers.
