Your wit is outstanding but you could have continued further with that great comeback, “Fair enough. I might be looking at his point a little further downstream than you are.” and said that looking so far down the stream is perhaps too advanced for her so you would give her some time to catch up. Or, better yet, just stay quiet because for me she got defensive and ruined her point altogether right then. Then again, why be so hard on her. She probably wouldn’t get that either.
