Simply A Question

I am new here so if I have posted this in the wrong locations, I beg your forgiveness.

But here goes, Has anyone ever read Frank Chodorov's book "The Rise and Fall of Society"?

I found it at a yard sale and was facinated by the insight to todays happenings.

I would like to know if anyone has insight into Mr. Chodorov. I ahve been researching the web and have found many conflicting opinion.

Here is an essay entitled "Who Is Frank Chodorov" that I found interesting.

You can find much of what he has written on the internet with a simple search. I particularly like his The Income Tax: Root of all Evil.

Welcome, and if you want more on Chodorov may I suggest his Wikipedia entry? It summarizes his contributions to conservative/libertarian thought fairly well.

Note that Frank Chodorov and William F. Buckley were co-founders of ISI, which was the first national effort toward putting conservative, free-market writings in the hands of college students. I have some of their journals from my college days somewhere in the back of a closet. It was a quality organization, and no doubt contributed to a resurgence of conservative thought on campus even in the midst of the intolerant 1960s.

More people should read this guy. His Fugitive Essays is a great intro to the tenor and direction of his thinking. I classify Chodorov as one the 'mindful' species of libertarian. This book of essays makes entirely too much sense in the context of today's events. In times past, I've posted some excerpts from some of those essays here at FR.

ISI, which stood for Intercollegiate Society of Individualists, as time went on into the 1960’s became less libertarian and more conservative, changing its name to the Intercollegiate Studies Institute. It still is an activist academically oriented student organization, distributing conservative scholarly works and conservative academic speakers.
