I have to detour around this section of 81 next week because Maryland does not honor reciprocity with my FL CCW. All the other states on our route do (with certain minor restrictions).

Maybe you’re trying to be humorous. If so, read no further in this post.
But in case you’re serious, I’d say you should learn something about the Federal firearms laws — which make it perfectly legal for an interstate traveler to carry a gun thru a jurisdiction where the gun in question would otherwise be illegal, as long as the gun owner is allowed legally to possess the gun at both his destination and his trip’s point of origination.
(You will, however, need to stow the gun unloaded in a secure and locked container, preferably in the trunk — if your vehicle has a trunk. And you can’t spend more than one night in the “forbidden” jurisdiction.)
About five or ten minutes, isn't it?
