Sure, if any idiot puts them in a closet, or next to a bed where blankets, etc, can fall in front of the heater, they can cause a fire. It's also because so many people have inadequate insulation, they are resorting to these in their rooms to stay warm. That's because of Gore-bull warming of course.

Otherwise, there is nothing wrong with this heater. I have several and they work just fine. They just require some shred of intelligence to use, as do all appliances if this type that provide this much heat.

A couple of nights ago a man was found dead in his house because he had an electric heater connected to a gasoline powered generator.

That's magor league stupid unless the dude wanted to remain warm while he commited suicide.
