After two weeks of negotiations with the Texas Rangers and New York Yankees, Cliff Lee has agreed to return to the Philadelphia Phillies.
MLB Ping.
Halladay, Hamels, Oswalt, Lee
Un-freaking-believable.
Wow! go Phils!
No kidding. Best starting pitching since the Orioles of early ‘70’s?
May as well give the Phils their 2011 World Series rings.
Now, if only the Phils could get the hitting going in the post season - they’ll be set.
As a Phillies Fan, I am UTTERLY shocked! After all those futile years of losing baseball...WOW! Best part, he turned the Yanks for them.
Yep - Phillie was the ‘mystery team’ that joined the fray late, making an offer just yesterday. Rumor has it that the deal is just 5 years and $87 million. He left a ton of money on the table if that’s the case.
He must really hate New York. Good to have him back.
*uncontrollable giggling*
This sucks
Ouch...
Obama should make them send Halladay to Pittsburgh now. Yea, Philly is following the rules and they are trying to win a championship. But we need to spread the wealth around ! lets make sure everyone wins a championship every year ! lol
I know how you feel. I am a Cavaliers fan. and well.. you know..
Yankee fans shouldn’t have spit on Lee’s wife during the ALCS.
Then again she may be PUKED on in Philly if her hubby ever gets in a slump.
Traitor! I would rather live under a bridge in Houston than live in a mansion in Philly.
Lincecum and the Giants staff schooled them all...
Best laid plans. Teams trade and the baseball gods laugh...
I would have liked to see Cliff at the Rangers, but I am glad that the Rangers did not sign another 100+Million dollar deal and mortgage the team for another decade.
A-rid finally got the Rangers into the Series, by striking out as a Yankee.
I’m almost relieved, at least he goes to the National League, and now the Rangers have all that money left to spend.
