Not that I would watch the show 60 minutes but....Geez they have a segment with Boehner tonight and he's CRYING AGAIN! What's with this guy! I was hoping we would get a Speaker that was a FIGHTER. Is it too late to take a recount? I would take Bauchman in a second......

Rep. Boehner, a famously emotional man, cried several times during interviews, on topics such as his family and his principles.

BOEHNER: We have to govern. That’s what we were elected to do.
STAHL: But governing means compromising.
BOEHNER: It means working together.
STAHL: It also means compromising.
BOEHNER: It means finding common ground.
STAHL: Okay, is that compromising?
BOEHNER: I made it clear— I am not going to compromise on my principles, nor am I going to compromise
STAHL: What are you saying?
BOEHNER: —the will of the American people.
STAHL: You’re saying, “I want common ground, but I’m not going to compromise.” I don’t understand that. I really don’t.
BOEHNER: When you say the word “compromise— “
STAHL: Yeah.
BOEHNER: a lot of Americans look up and go, “Oh, oh, they’re going to sell me out.” And so finding common ground— I think (NOISE) makes more sense.
Feeeeeeelings, whoa whoa whoa feeeeeeelings...
Bohner has that retro look down pat but he should lay off the tanning booths and orange tan oil.
LOL. You mean you don’t think his ‘tan’ comes from his rounds of golf?
You know what makes me said?
You do.
Maybe we should just chug on over to Namby-Pamby land, where maybe we could find some self confidence for you, you Jack Wagon.
LOL. You mean you dont think his tan comes from his rounds of golf?>>>>>>>>
That is or was his orange man-tan oil. Whatever it was his handlers have taken it from him and he looks more normal now. The only vice he has left is puffing away on his Barclays ciggies in his inner sanctum House office with the smoke eater turned up full blast.
“Specially designed for women.”
I vote Aye!
I see CBS gave up and went to the Miami-NY game. In related news, God seems to want Favre’s streak to continue....
The GOP women have more cojones than the men.
Does he have an emotional problem or hormone issues? There is no excuse for a man to blubber during TV interviews unless there is something medical going on, in which case he should resign and let someone else serve.
It is shameful that the GOP labors under the delusion that the next guy gets the job because “it’s his turn.” That’s how losers like Denny Hastert wound up dragging the party down during his misbegotten speakership.
Which brings another thought. All of us fail at times to meet our own standards. Why do we expect perfection from our leaders? They aren't preternatural, they are just people like us (well, excluding most libs anyway). What is driving this illogical demand for all things perfect from all politicians?
A president must make over 100 million people feel that s/he is representing them fairly well in order to poll well and have ‘bully pulpit’ and legislative power. A Speaker of the House who can be painted as harsh and partisan will not be successful (NP, anyone?). Boehner was right to throw a little sugar at Obama on TV, as he will have plenty of chances to take his whacks too, and he has before. He's speaking to a mixed political audience, must avoid a possible gaffe, and said the right thing. When you are gracious to an opponent you give the impression that you are winning (See Reagan, President).
The fault finding and dismissal of people for the slightest deviation from ideological positions or for crying or some such has got to stop. Give me someone who doesn't agree with me on everything but is trustworthy and principled. I will take that over someone who is a perfect match to my thinking but is mainly out for service to self.
I am not talking about the Mike Castles of the Republican party here. An example: Larry Kudlow got heavily on Krauthammer about the tax deal, but he said very clearly that he thinks the Hammer is brilliant and a great man. They just disagree on that issue. That doesn't mean they write each other off over it.
How many friends would you have if you expected perfection from all of them? How many would still call you friend if they also demanded permanent perfection from you?
This Merlot is very good so my apologies for my rambling. I'm not crying though!
Farve tweeted a few hours ago he’s not playing tommorrow (barring a miracle).
Thanks, maggie.
I sure love the ‘no compromising on principles’
line. Easy to say ..I pray he means all our traditional,
conservative principles; and I really want to hear
his litany.
Wondering: what’s his line in the sand?
He wants another one?
Personally I wish he would stop crying in public like this. I saw the commercial and he was practically sobbing. It made me uncomfortable. Boehner, you guys won there is nothing to be crying about.
No....just a young’n..that is how they ‘think’ these days. My God...
he sheds tears as he sees what is happening to this country. he is a good man and a great representative in my view.
God Bless Him!
