Both work well. I learned with XP/Win 7 to open the task manager ( Ctrl/ Alt/ ( tap only ) Del ) ASAP and kill the processes that look like the junk programs. Some have numbers in the name and most valid programs don't. Then download both above. Run in regular mode selecting quick scan first. Seems to work better than full scan in safe mode to clear up the problem. Then update both and run in safe mode/full scan to be sure.

Here's something that works well for vicious Google/Bing redirectors. Not an easy program to use but does solve that problem when nothing else works.

I got hit with one of those redirctors TWICE last week. Combofix was the only way I could get rid of it. I don’t do “porn sites” and “free music download” sites. I’ve got a suspicion that I was picking it up at a popular news site. I’m not mentioning any names but I stopped visiting that site. So far, so good. I’ve used Combofix twice and am keeping it handy. Those redirectors are a real PITA.
