“I would track down 2-3 groups, with competent balanced, experienced leaders . . .

preferably at least one or 2 of them with some training from Derek Prince and a good track record of great discernment and great success in the deliverance ministry without a lot of flakiness.

BONDAGE BREAKER is a great book

Also, THE BAIT OF SATAN.

And, likely the home/house needs a spiritual house cleansing wherein all idols, satanic music etc. etc. etc. needs to have associated confessions and repentances and then to be broken up, burned, tossed out etc.

There should also be prayer regarding ancestral spirits coming down following through the generations.

The leaders should be able to hear Holy Spirit about how such things gained an entry into the family lives and those things should be repented of and those doors shut and sealed with the Blood of The Lamb.

Search out 2-3 such groups and ask as many questions as you can about their levels of experience, evident anointing, training, etc. and their track record of success as well as humility, balance etc. Go with the one that feels most potent and fitting for your situation.”

This is excellent advice. Years ago I was involved in a prayer and deliverance ministry until the church decided to go the mega church route rather than follow God. Also, as someone else said, the first question asked is has the person accepted Jesus Christ into their heart as Lord and Savior.

Any Christian has authority in Jesus name over demons, but not all have the maturity to exercise it. If you sense a demon around you, certainly rebuke it in Jesus name. The problems of facing more serious attacks are going to be from trying to enter into deliverance of demons from another person. Even a “baby” Christian can do a simple house cleansing with a little direction, but delivering a “person” from demons takes someone highly knowledgeable, experienced, “prayed up,” and under the direction of the Holy Spirit.

With generational spirits or curses, it may take someone else to get discernment as we aren’t always honest with ourselves or want to recognize/ acknowledge certain things. In NGZ’s posted situation, I would recommend outside spiritual help since the demon has actually physically manifested itself to both father and son. I would do this for the discernment of why and what needs to be done to properly deal with it.

To address the neurological issues people brought up, as an RN, they’re usually a little more obvious, and frankly I’d try prayer and deliverance (free) before thousands of dollars in tests...but then I’ve been healed several times through prayer.

That is so important it needs repeating!

Excellent points.

Would you concur that neurological problems

1. would have shown other evidence by 4 in virtually all cases pertinent to this thread

and

2. such problems do NOT account for seeing the SAME THING a generation and geography distant from one another. Neurological things just do NOT manifest in such an identical fashion across individuals.
