Its disgusting how some people gain off others weakness.
People need to leave their items unpaid in storage for about 4-6 months before their stuff is sold.
They get informal notices, preliminary lien notices, and lien notices (formally served).
I am not sure why the owner of the storage unit is disgusting by selling the contents of the unit if the owner willfully declines to pay rent.
It is legal; and it is proper. The storage unit is not the free town dump.
And what would you propose as an alternative to the owner of the facility to collect a debt which is legitimately owed to him?

Like the farm auctions during the depression? When one farm went under, the neighbors were there bidding at the auction. It is not disgusting, actually. It is prudent.
If you own enough crap to have to rent a storage unit, you get no sympathy from me. Sell it. It’s just stuff.
The owner of the storage units should continue to store the things indefinitely? Why? Because you think he is rich and should share his wealth?
Are you sure you’re on the right website?
Most of the time people keep things in storage that would be cheaper to replace once they needed it again.
My son used Craigs list to furnish his student house with free furniture... all from storage centers. These weren’t even auctions...just people realizing they were renting space for objects they couldn’t even sell, and listing them for free on craigs list.
Why?
Isn't that the basis of honest competition in business, sports, courtship?
