“A Republic, if you can keep it.”
That was Benjamin Franklin’s replay to a lady at the close of the Constitutional Convention when she asked, “Well Doctor what have we got a republic or a monarchy?”... I hope we keep it. But I’m concerned we’re perilously close to not keeping it.
