Strange Feeling (Vanity)

Posted on 12/09/2010 8:45:24 AM PST by Scythian

I'll probably get called a crack-pot (again) but here goes ...

I have a bad feeling about things, a really bad feeling in fact. We have the democrats who were soundly defeated trying to pass through their agenda in the lame duck session with the dream act, trying to let the tax cuts expire, and so on. All things designed to further harm the country.

On the security side of things Iran is stock piling rockets in Venezuela that can reach the United States. Our border is being breached by terrorists on a regular basis and illegals are pouring in the country uncontrollably, and our southern border has more in common with Somalia than any place else.

Wikileaks has been releasing confidential information and our President has done nothing; acting as if it doesn't really matter. And now, companies that tried to stop Wikileaks such as Amazon are under massive DOS attacks as anarchists everywhere are gathering to bring the entire web to it's knees, and they can probably do it.

The United States is doing everything wrong, no border, no energy, no security, no economy, and from what I'm seeing has very little will to survive, maybe even a death wish.

I'm at a total loss to explain what I see happening. I only see things spiraling further out of control. As the Republicans take the helm and try to change things I see civil unrest, angst, and possibly civil war coming to Americans, not from Americans mind you.

Does anybody else see us as one straw away from breaking the camel's back?

Many Americans have turned their backs on God for a long time....but I STILL believe that this nation is blessed by Him in a special way that is crucial to His plan.

From the entire salvation story as related in the Sacred Scriptures, we know what happens when God’s people turn away from Him. He allows them to experience life without His protections, in order to open their eyes. He has begun to do that now with all of the people He has created in this world. This includes the United States. The trials we are going to experience will not be easy. However, they will prove, ultimately, to be a great blessing of His mercy.

The evil slaughter of God’s unborn human creatures has, indeed, become a curse upon this country.....and the world.

That's what happens when too many people choose not to be intellectually responsible. They decide to drift along in a haze or fog and are not able to or refuse to think or judge rationally. They become emotionalistic and accept the libtard mentality of altruism, collectivism, and statism. When they vote, they vote for libtards who do everything they can to destroy what's good about America. For this to change, more people have to choose to start depending on their own independent rational judgment and vote for those with the correct values and principles.

Don’t forget to add elevation of perversions as “virtue.”

We are in this mess because we’ve turned our backs on God. The only way out is through Him.

They could...
But how would people like not having:
The FDA, the Ag Dept, the BATF, the DOE, the other DOE, and 99% of all other federal government agencies?

The foreboding of which you speak has become the norm since the Election of 2006 and the increased visibility of George Soros. It is absolutely beyond the believable that such a traitor to this country could become so mainstream with so many supporters.
I truly feel that I am paranoid with the belief that many Republicans have sold out to this man.

Scythian, you’re not paranoid when someone is really out to get you.

Have faith. As I remember, things were even worse just before Ronald Reagan came to office. We were in a losing arms race against a titan in the USSR, double digit inflation and unemployment. Then Reagan said, “I don’t think so”.

We are still alive. There is hope.

Over the years I have hung out here, I have learned that the walls within FR are covered with words of wisdom.

On this thread, the simple answer seems to be the best advise.

“Hope for the best and prepare for the worst. Prepare to be a leader.”—cripplecreek

While you may indeed be a “crackpot”, I believe that you are in very good company. ;>)

God save the Republic........

For the first time in history, a private company launched a spacecraft, achieved orbit, properly separated its payload, and then returned that payload back to earth successfully.

That company is right here in the USA, and the achievement came days after the Japanese failed to insert it’s Venus orbiter into proper orbit around Venus. Their next opportunity to do that will be in six years. This is their third attempt at this, having failed twice to do it around Mars.

While it is very true that Wall Street and Washington DC are doing their level best to destroy the USA and what it is to be an American, I would remind you that between them they don’t possess the ability to do that.

Being an American is something embodied in the Declaration of Independence and the original Constitution. American’s know free when we see it, and we know tyranny when we see it. We know tyranny even when it’s wrapped up in Old Glory.

This election was important because if it failed to make a dent, then the next box we were going to use to guarantee freedom was the Cartridge Box. Boehner still hasn’t received the message, given who won all the choice positions this upcoming Congress. Amazing that a man who works in DC things a tiger can change its spots at this late date.

There’s another election coming. We are a flat tax away from fixing a lot of what’s wrong in DC, plus if we shed about 8 or 9 departments that simply don’t matter anymore (Department of Labor anyone? Department of Commerce?). As for Social Security and Medicare, you’ll know they are serious about reform when they reform the tort system.

Until the tort system and jackpot justice is dealt with, it will legitimately cost $400 for a nurse to administer a band aid. It will continue to cost over $1B to bring a good new drug to market.

If in the next election we don’t make more progress to get rid of the Upton’s, the Lewis’s, and the Castle’s of the party, then there’s always the Cartridge Box.

Nuclear power can fix the energy situation. Domestic drilling can fix the oil/gas situation and make us net exporters. Changing our perspective on Islam, and recognizing it as a system of government and not a religion would also fix a great deal of issues.

All our problems have solutions. It’s up to us to insist on leaders that have the courage to put those solutions in place.

The last time we all felt like this was 1978 and 1979. For those old enough to remember, it felt just like this. Amazing what Reagan put in place, and more amazing how long it took George HW Bush, Clinton, W, and now Obama to lead us back to this place.

Thanksgiving this year was interesting. Most of my relatives are liberals but they seem to be looking to conservatives in the family for advice on taking care of their own needs.

I kind of feel like its my duty to help them learn to help themselves. I’m not going to worry about their politics because I think their politics will moderate naturally as they learn that they don’t need government.

Further, I think that a large part of the intent is to beat us down emotionally speaking- to steal our resolve, and that realization goes a long way to shoring me up.

Now that being said; after last night’s passage of The Nightmare; I am feeling every bit as troubled, but I work to steel myself to respond by alternating between prayers for our nation, and planning for the future of our family...

Take care FRiends, and
May God give us the strength to return this nation to His greatness.

One of my favorite quotes:

"Paranoid? Probably. But just because you're paranoid doesn't mean there isn't an invisible demon about to eat your face."

I think you're looking for a level of intestinal fortitude which almost no politician, by definition, possesses. There are some, and I am lucky enough to be represented by one, but I fear their numbers are too small to hold the line.

None of that surprises me. I believe that you would make a good neighbor too.

Fortunately, my two adult children are both conservatives. There remains a few libs in the family. I have failed to turn them around, so all I can do is be a good example... hopefully that will eventually work.

I don’t blame my cousins for being liberal. They’re just products of their environment (Ann Arbor, Kalamazoo, and Minneapolis). I on the other hand grew up in my little rural hometown and saw my grandparents and great grandparents pretty much every day. All I say about politics is that the veiw from the woods is a whole lot different than it is from the city.

It was a conversation with my grandmother about my great grandmother that started the self sufficiency talk. One of my cousins said that he felt kind of left out for not having known great grandma very well.

If he had known her like I did, he would know how to grow a real garden and how to preserve enough veggies to get through a winter.

You may be a crackpot, but probably no more that the rest of us. A lot of old time freepers have gotten quiet of late, except for those of us foolish enough to argue with the seminar trolls.

We are definitely well into a Crisis Era, and all the actions being taken are pushing us farther down, not toward any sort of recovery.

Now is a great time to focus on emergency preparedness for a long winter storm.
