I still have AVG but I’ll keep tabs on what you get on this thread. I did hear that Windows 7 machines were locked up really bad.

Komondo is free virus ware. Works great. We dumped AVG long ago for lock up problems.
Windows 7.

I got a bad trojan on Mcafee and had lots of issues with AVG breaking itself every 2 weeks on both XP and 7. I am now on Microsoft SE and Spybot, both coexist with each other.

I’d use CCleaner followed by IOBit’s Advanced SystemCare. Both are free, but the paid version of Advanced SystemCare does even more deep cleaning, along with turning off unnecessary services and such.

If you can get the IOBit program under $15, it’s worth it. Get it from CNET, and maybe you’ll see a deal. If not, uninstall it and see if a discount offer appears.

Here’s a free one that I’ve seen recommended on FR. I’ve only been using it a short while, but it seems to do fine.

I use ccleaner too, but here’s another free clean-up utility:

It will find more things to fix in the registry than ccleaner.

I use Windows 7 (64 bit) and use The free version of Avast and Ccleaner. Both work great.

I haven’t used a virus program in many years. Most e mails are screened by the isp company or by the 3rd-party e mail like google, hotmail and yahoo.

I also use Eraser for anti-forensics. Setup the scheduler to run and wipe the free space.
