1.) Most of what is posted on Free Republic is from liberal sources. The point of the FR Forum is to allow Freepers to rip apart what needs to be ripped.
2.) If Sarah Palin does not want to be trash tabloid fodder, then she really needs to have the common sense not to do a reality TV episode with Kate Gosselin, the reigning Queen of Trash Tabloids.
3.) Since when did the blind adoration of Sarah Palin become a litmus test for being a conservative? The "cult of personality" has always been one of the hallmarks of being a liberal.
I really dont think its a good idea for Sarah Palin to be mingling with these F rate celebrities. There are already plenty of conservatives who dont think she would make a serious presidential candidate. ...... Soothesayer
Count me among those conservatives who think so.
Right now, a serious presidential candidate (at the very least) would be wrapping up her FIRST term as Governor of Alaska. Instead, Sarah Palin is raking in $1 million per episode on a reality TV show that headlines trash tabloid fixture Kate Gosselin going camping so the audience can have a staged laugh.
What's next? Take Paris Hilton fishing and teach her how to bleed a king salmon before bringing it into the boat by cuttiing its gill artery so the audience can have an even bigger staged laugh?
That is not even cutting it with the reality TV crowd. Sarah Palin's reality TV ratings plummeted 40% from Week 1 to Week 2:
It is no wonder that, even with Barack Obama's poll number being lower than whale scat at the bottom of the ocean and most voters wanting him gone after the next presidential election, Sarah Palin is the single potential candidate that Barack Obama still beats like a redheaded stepchild.
Sarah Palin can expect the majority of American voters to see her as either a serious presidential candidate or as a less-than-serious reality TV star that caters to those individuals who consider Kate Gosselin to be worth more than 30 seconds of viewing time and electricity but she can't expect the majority of American voters to see her as both.
If Sarah Palin has made herself into the punchline of jokes to the majority of American voters, she has nobody but herself to blame.
Well said.
Great article. I don’t have time to post it.
TLC and why Sarah Palin will never be president

“You are now a pop culture freak thanks to lowering yourself to the level of Kate Gosselin. Three million carnivalgoers enter the TLC tent to look at you each Sunday night. But when it comes time to elect a president in two years, it won’t be someone from the sideshow tent who gets their votes, believe me.”
