I love this one,
“I kill a Communist for fun, but for a Green Card, I gonna carve him up real nice.”
My wife will watch the Godfather with me but she leaves the room when I play Scarface. Scarface is too much for her. :)
How could I forget them? Those were the days.
He was asked that in an interview and he said something about taking any work that comes to him. I think he has a real work ethic plus he knows how tough it can be for actoirs and actresses to stay employed.
I grew up in the Bronx and knew what that meant since childhood. So Sonny not knowing really seemed odd to me.
Thanks for the response.
“The whole poor Pennsylvania coal country added so much too.”
That part of the film was actually filmed in Cleveland, Ohio.
It’s what has to be done in movies sometimes to let the audience know what things mean.
I checked out his biography. Here’s one tidbit:
Pacino went to the High School of Performing Arts in NYC & flunked nearly all of his classes except English & dropped out of school at 17. He started smoking at age nine. He has 3 children and never married.
i have added you. Welcome!
One thing about actors/actress.. some go the route: Jodie Foster/Natalie Portman of schooling, prep, structured life
some go the route of fly by the seat of your pants
both can & do succeed.
That's a massively underrated film in my estimation. It may be Pacino at his best since he absolutely carries that film. I also like the subway scene from "Devil's Advocate". A regular Bernie Goetz without a gun!
Thank you!
Another excellent movie.
Yes, every movie he was in won an academy award for one category or another and he is the only actor to have that honor.
