FTC proposes 'do not track' list to protect Internet users

In a highly anticipated report, the Federal Trade Commission advocated safeguards, including a "do not track" list that would give consumers the option of keeping their Web surfing private. It has similar intent to the do-not-call list that helped curb telemarketing phone calls.

While the purpose of "do not track" is similar to "do not call," it's unlikely to be a centralized registry maintained by the government. Sure! Let me sign up for this *immediately*!

Maybe if I act now they'll throw in a small under-skin tracking implant for free!

FINALLY a list for people who don’t like being on lists!

"Do Not Ping Me" ping.

The Comedian's "Do Not Ping Me" ping list.

Zero volume ping list that doesn't ping those who have explicitly stated that they do not wish to be pinged.

Don't FReepmail me if you want on or off The Comedian's "Do Not Ping Me" ping list...

Smiling takes 6.
