You are exactly correct about the difference between male and female circumcision. Since women are chattle and are basically considered sub-human by muslim men, they do this as a means of power/control and also as a way to ensure that a woman will never cheat because she wouldn’t enjoy it. I may be wrong, but I thought men were circumcised more for hygenic reasons?
They just use the word ‘circumcision’ for women to make it sound like it’s no big deal and attempt to confuse the issue since they know male circumcision is a common practice in the Western world.
May I also add that FGM doesn’t necessarily take place in a medical facility...many times it’s the elder women of the village that take the young girl to some type of random location and perform this. I’ve read that this takes place in North African countries that practice Islam. It’s an extremely barbaric practice and needs to be stopped.
It can also involve the actual stitching up of the “female” parts leaving only a small opening for urination/menstruation. On their wedding night, a sharp knife is used to slit open the area. I saw this on a Discovery episode and couldn’t believe it. The female will never experience anything since she is so mutilated.
