If one wants to truth...it can be found. Auburn fans prefer name calling and hiding their heads in the sand:
This from the Orlando Sentinel:
“University of Florida police arrested sophomore quarterback Cameron Newton on Friday afternoon for felony charges of buglary, larceny and obstruction of justice, according to Alachua County jail records.
Newton has been suspended from the team, according to football team spokesman Steve McClain.
Newton allegedly stole a Dell laptop from a UF students dorm room and then threw it out of the window when University Police Department officers visited Newtons dorm today, according to the UPD arrest report. Newton was booked at 2:25 p.m. after the alleged buglary was reported on Oct. 16, according to the report.
Police found out via the universitys computer network that someone had logged onto the student-friendly Gatorlink system with the laptop under the identification “cnewton,” according to the report. Newton, 19, signed a waiver form Friday allowing the police to view his Dell computer, which appeared to have been painted black and had the spelling “Cam Newton” in white painted letters on the lid, according to the report.”
This from WIKI:
“On November 21, 2008, Newton was arrested on felony charges of burglary, larceny and obstruction of justice after allegedly purchasing a stolen laptop from a student at the University of Florida. He was subsequently temporarily suspended by the team after the laptop was in fact found to be in his possession. Newton withdrew from the University of Florida after the Fall 2008 semester. All charges against Newton were dropped after he completed a court-approved pretrial diversion program.”
Oh my, those mean old Bama fans are FALSELY pointing a finger out poor little Cam.
Auburn fans are such babies.

Sorry to burst your bubble...but really, you Auburn fans need to quit calling people names and accusing every one who says anything about Cam...get off your lazy butts and look these things up yourself instead of attacking ESPN and anyone who attempt to lead you our of your blindness.
Just where did you get that I once said it was ok to steal? You change subjects from $$$ for play to receiving stolen property. True I responded to a post to another poster, but nowhere have I even suggest that guilty of stealing was ok. I was robbed myself at Auburn by a young black man that broke into my car and stole my stereo system and all my cassettes while at Auburn as a student. I took him to court (he was a juvi) and his parent said he would work weekends to pay me back (20 a week for xxx months). He sent one check and it stopped. I sued him in small claims court and his folks sent me the full amount owed. I don't like crime, but I can't demand payment beyond what is owed. Did Cam pay for his sins? Yes... and he moved because his sin found him out.
God can forgive sin if honestly asked. God forgave King David for having stolen a married man's wife and then having him killed. David's sin required the death penalty. But God also said that that sin would be used as ammo against David. Just as you have used Cam's sin against him.
* "The Lord also has put away your sin; you shall not die. However... by this deed you have given great occasion to the enemies of the Lord to blaspheme..." 2 Sam. 12:13
Now everyone knows that we are to forgive sin against us if asked. But Cam sinned not against you or me. So we as society ask that justice be done. Cam was found guilty and punished, as it should be. End of story. Are we to just to forget all about it? No, and perhaps this focus of his past sins will remind to keep straight.
Now as to proof that Cam himself went out and shopped for money, you have NO proof. His father and the con artist crooked agent is fair game IMHO. But so far no proof that Cam knew what was going on or could help what his father was doing. We can pretty much see that Cam didn't receive any money from anyone. AU included. I wish that there was a law that could punish his father for what he did, but I don't know that there is (except possible NCAA judgments that just punish Cam instead of his father). The Loophole in NCAA rules has been discussed (and I think I linked the article in my previous post). I also pointed out exactly what my feelings were about it in my previous post. One can clearly say that I was not denying anything and my saying if Cam is proved of this or that, he should be punished.
I have made it clear that my objections to you were based on your falsely accusing Cam of things not proven. Innocent until proven guilty. If found guilty then point away. If you want to make an issue of the computer, I say clearly that is ok and your free to do so. I don't say "judge not" I say "Judge Rightly".
Hope that clears it up on where I stand. IMHO I think AU is clean (and has played by the rules that the NCAA put out). I think Cam's father is scum, but you can't choose your father in this world. I think Cam is a talented young man that hopefully has had the good guidance of a good coach that will keep him making good choices in the future. It was once argued that everything you need to learn about life can be learned by an good football team under good guidance. I hope AU was a positive influence on Cam.
Let me be clear...I am not anti-Cam or anti-Auburn...I was NOT directing my post to you alone, but to the thread.
I was attacked on this forum...called Cam-hater, accused of being a BAMA fan out to get Auburn...a lot of silly stuff, etc...all because I corrected those Kool-Aide level Auburn fans who said Cam was ABSOLUTLEY without blame...they claimed that ESPN was out to get him...that Mississppi State was out to get him...that BAMA fans were LYING about poor little Cam....they wanted to get ESPN commentators fired..etc, etc.
I didn’t change any subjects...Never said that YOU personally claimed anything one way or another...although if a person would steal a $1700 laptop, paint it black to conceal it, throw it into the garbage outside his dorm room when the police arrive, and then claim he bought it from someone selling out of the trunk of a car...get a lawyer that negotiates a type of probation, etc...why would it be unreasonable for anyone to believe that Cam and Cecil would TAKE money for play? The NCAA has already confirmed that Cecil is a pimp at best, and an extortionist at worst....and a PREACHER to boot..this is ugly.
My post was to ALL who had claimed Cam didn’t STEAL anything..and further asserted that anyone who said he did so was a mean hateful lying POS.
He did steal it..they are making themselves look foolish to continue to assert that Cam is a victim when someone mentions the theft.
As you say, I have no proof that Cam asked for money, or that he received any...but I do have a brain...and with a small measure of common sense applied I see that:
(1)Cam was at Mississippi State ringing the cow bell one week before anouncing that he was going to Auburn.
(2) A Mississipi State recuiter says that Cam called him and said that the “money was just too much” from Auburn...no proof, as you say, but why would the recuiter lie? Nothing to gain and much to lose by lying.
(3)Cecil’s church buildings were facing being condenmed by the city and then miracles of miracles...he has the money to make the repairs...no proof..but come on..what are the odds?
(4)All of it together: Cam steals a laptop, lies about it and gets a form of probation...his daddy admits to pimping his son...Cam is going to State but suddenly switches to Auburn...Cecil fixes up his church...oh yeah, it is ALL just a bunch coincidences...
How mean and cruel of me to suspect poor Cam and his fine upstanding daddy.
But how foolish of Auburn fans to deny that Cam ever did anything wrong and attack those who point out the facts.
According to ESPN.com, the N.C.A.A. contacted Cecil Newton about a month ago, requesting financial documents. He told the news outlet that he submitted bank statements and other records related to the church. Newton also owns a construction company, according to news reports.
So if what you say is true, that Cecil received money from Auburn that would be shown to the NCAA before they last said he was ok to play. Yet they choose not to make any mention of it being a problem and they have the financial records in their hands. They said the total of all repairs they wanted to do was 50k (and that included things not required for up to code). So code upgrade was not given in $$ for us to know. I could of just been 25k as far as we know to get the building up to code, or it could of been 45k. How would one (say an Auburn alumni) funnel money to a church? I guess they could sit in church and drop a tax free donation in the offering plate. I don't know how one would be able to trace that as a bribe, but I guess it would be fully known to the pastor and his wife. But proving it would be pretty hard (without violating some civil rights).
I have not been able to determine (had time to research) about "stealing" charges. Example would 3rd degree possession be considered stealing? I thought it was said he paid $120 for the computer (which probable to most people that surmise, means he knew it was stolen, due to being so low a price). Can you shed light on that subject (link)... was he found guilty for "actually going into the room and taking the computer"? Thanks in advance.
ha.
