I guess we have been lucky; we don’t ususally turn off the water.

We are in the country and our water is by house well and pump. The pipes could freeze ... hubby usually leaves a hose running very slow in the orange trees. Helps keep the trees from freezing and keeps water flowing thru the pipes.

Yes we do that in the house when the temps go below freezing. It was a balmy 54 with a low of 45 when the 45 year old brass valves broke. Not much you can do about old age in a house, except to replace as needed.
