My children like Punch Out!, the Raving Rabbids series and anything Mario.
Personally, I play Guitar Hero every now and then.
APf
My son says Mario Cart. I got bored with the wii after about 3 months.
I don’t want to “recommend” any game. So I just want to give you information — both my family, and my sister’s family, really like the game called “Let’s Dance”. It seems silly to me.
I picked up Tournament Of Legends ( a fantasy fighting game),
and Endless Ocean, Blue World (single player- it’s slow and calm). My nine year old is enjoying them both tremendously. Right now she’s playing Star Wars Clone Wars with the neighbor boy, and enjoying that. She’s dying to get How to Train Your Dragon.
Personally, I’d like to get Batman;Brave and the Bold.
I’m sure you’ll get lots of replies on this one, anyhow :)
Bowling without a doubt!
I am not a WII owner, player, or critic, but I can think of a good game for the whole family:
“Let’s Preserve Our Constitution While We Still Have The Means”
New Super Mario Bros.: Is amazing if you grew up in the 90s like me, you’ll ove this platformer it brings back so many memories and it’s freaking awesome!
Knockout: Pays homage to the original and is so freaking good.
Donkey Kong Country Returns: A lot like New. Super Mario Bros. Definitely should not be missed
NBA Jam: It’s awesome, a lot like the original except with updated roster, retro players from the 90s, and you can unlock Sarah Palin, and George Bush as playable characters!
FYI: Stick with the Nintendo original titles they can very rarely do any wrong imo, and if you need to get just one of these titles I recommend Mario, it’s worth the price of the wii alome.
People are saying Epic Mickey will be the game of the Christmas/Winter season, I will likely buy this for my sister. It comes out on Weds 11/30.
My husband and I really enjoy Tiger Wood’s golf and Wii Sports. We play theses a lot as a family. We have others that my daughter plays like Mario Cart, but I don’t know what her favorite is. I wanted to buy the dancing one, but it hasn’t been in the budget. It seemed like a fun way to get more exercise. At the moment, I’m recuperating from bowling after not playing for too long. To quote my daughter, “well if you didn’t do the splits....”
Mario Kart rocks.
Sports Resort is a great value. 100 pin bowling is a total hoot. Golf is good, too.
Beatles Rock Band is excellent. My 13 year old daughter is totally hooked on the Beatles because of it. Far, far better than the other Rock Bands.
I bought the same red system, along with the fit board, for my wife. She wanted the Wii fit and sports.
If depends on what you enjoy. The Legend of Zelda game is fun. Nintendo is releasing a limited edition disk with all the mario classics in December.
“Sports Resort” is our favorite so far!
Whatever you do, USE THE WRIST STRAPS. Seriously.
If you want a really awesome, long adventure game with lots of cool puzzles and action, “The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess” is a must. It’s older so it might not even be sold in stores at least not new. Another off the beaten path game that is quite impressive is “Okami” (wolf in Japanese). If you are into those types of games, you won’t be disappointed.
All good choices here. MY friend has a Wii and another game that looks good i the Call of Duty series, I especially like the World War II version.
Dump the Wii..get xbox 360 with connect...you won’t be disappointed....
Some suggestions based on what go played to death here.
Punchout!
Excitetruck (older, but fun)
Wii Mario Kart
Rayman’s Raving Rabbids
Wii Sports Resort (be aware you need those motion control plus addons)
Mario Galaxy I & II
Super Paper Mario
Download games :
Excitebike World Championship (especially if you are a fan of the older Excitebike game from the 80s ... I think that was the name ... it is not the $5 NES game you can also get)
World of Goo
Tetris Party
I prefer the Call of Duty games, the online play is what makes it. A first person shooter with the zapper gun is they way it was meant to be played.
The Mario Galaxy games are very good.
Don’t forget all the down-loadable games on the Wii shop channel.
Also, if you’re into the Zelda games; I would recommend OKAMI. It’s a great unknown game and is cheap these days.

I’m also a Final Fantasy junky, you can download the early FF’s on the Nintendo Channel.
Marquis De Sade’s Wonder Whip for WII.
