Has anyone here read Dinesh D'Souza's The Roots of Obama's Rage?

I happen to read beginning part of it and it is quite interesting about why Barack Obama is the way he is. His mother, Ann Durham, who was a self-hating White person. She was in a relationship with Barack Obama Sr., who was an avowed anti-colonialist from Kenya. He was opposed to Kenya becoming free market. They give birth to Barack Obama Jr., out President. Dunham than moves to Indonesia and marries Lolo Soetero and have a daughter, Maya Soetoro-Ng. Lolo Soetero used to be pro-Communist and anti-American and than he changed to pro-American and anti-Communist. He even took part in the overthrow of Sukarno, which was led by Suharto. It was to the displeasure of Ann Dunham. Dunham wanted Obama to be more like his father, a radical anti-colonialist.

Obama's family is the Luo ethnic group of Kenya and their language is Eastern Sudanic branch of the Nilo-Saharan language family. Most African languages are in the Niger-Congo, which includes Bantu, Swahili, and Lingala. Black American come from West Africa and their original language is Niger-Congo language family.

I certainly think it explains at least part — but not all — of who he is and why he despises our country so much, and has so much contempt for the Constitution. That a man like that, and with no qualifications or experience whatsoever, could be elected President is an embarrassment and a disgrace.

Yes, it’ interesting to read but I think it would have been a better short story than a novel.

I have been thinking about buying this book but am really curious...how does the author know that? And does that mean that she hated herself because she was white or hated herself anyway and just happened to be white.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Yep. And Obama’s mama definitely liked dark and exotic men. I just wondered how the author concluded she was self-loathing (i.e. did he interview her childhood friends or base that conclusion on her behavior?).

Yes, heard it on CD. It was great. Very informative and I think his theories are the best that explains Obama and his actions, so far. Chilling it is.

I haven't read the book, but I've heard Dinesh interviewed about it on several broadcasts. At least one of the interviews ran a full hour (w/commercials), and so I think I understand the "D'Souza Theory" reasonably well.

In my humble opinion, the book's line of argument isn't the least bit persuasive, even though the book is full of interesting and juicy details about Barack's family background and intellectual development, and even though D'Souza certainly is a terrific writer.

Why am I not persuaded? Because there are so many Dhimmi-Qrat politicians who are just as bad, even though they lack Obama's Kenyan Y chromosome, and they didn't have leftwing mothers from Kansas.

For example, Nancy Pelosi comes straight from the Baltimore political machine. Harry Reid is a Nevada Mormon. Bernie Sanders is a Brooklyn Jew. Dick Durbin is a Chicago Lithuanian. Jim McDermott is a Seattle psychiatrist. Jay Rockerfeller would be nobody without the billions earned by his family's Standard Oil trust.

I could go on and on with other pertinent examples. But no need. The simple point is that you don't need a Kenyan Mau-Mau father and a Kansas-Kommie mother to be an America-loathing lefty politico. Far from it.

Moreover, and pardon my cynicism, I'd say you don't need to shell out good money for Dinesh's book, not just yet. It probably will show up fairly soon on the remainder tables, priced around a dollar or two.

I thing D’Souza did an excellent of siting and explaining the sources of Obama’s influences, except for MicHELLe.
