Los Angeles Lakers coach Phil Jackson isn't surprised that the revamped Miami Heat are struggling initially, but he thinks if they don't get it together soon coach Erik Spoelstra's days could be numbered.

ESPN 1000, Chicago

Lakers coach Phil Jackson joined "The Waddle & Silvy Show" to discuss the possibility of Pat Riley coaching the Heat; the Lakers' chance of breaking the Bulls' 72-win mark; and the future of the Bulls and Derrick Rose.

After adding LeBron James and Chris Bosh to go along with Dwyane Wade, Miami has limped to an 8-6 record. Wade has been banged up, Mike Miller hasn't played a game and now Udonis Haslem could miss significant time.

All mind games. He’s just throwing it out there to create conflict. One of the best at doing so I might add.

No real center, LeBron doesn’t post-up and no ball distribution. Other than that, what’s the problem?

NBA, NFL and even MBL thug leagues who fawn over Hussein - who cares. Didn’t LeBron blame whitey for leaving Cleveland?

Pride cometh before the fall, LeBron.

Wherever Riley goes, I’m a fan of his. Be careful what u wish for Jax. (This from a Freeper in L.A.) He’s a an unabashed Republican, and pro-military as he came up with the idea to set the training camp in a military base. Every soldier in the base knew that and he was the star there, not Lebron.

Time to fire Spoelstra, he couldnt handle the 3 divas.

James, Wade, Bosh (Take your pick)

Erik Spoelstra’s cannot manage two alpha dogs—Wade and ‘Bron.

...But you can bet Pat Riley can...

Bingo. The lack of a legit center will likely keep them from ever advancing past the Eastern Conference finals. The Heat will have huge match up problems with LA’s Gasol, Bynum and Odom and Boston's Garnett, Davis and Shaq. Plus, the Heat is a team is built for speed yet they stagnate in a half-court offense with poor ball movement.

“Erik Spoelstra cannot manage two alpha dogs Wade and Lebron”

Lebron James is not an Alpha Dog. Lebron James is a follower.

Exactly. With 1 shot to win, who do you give the ball to?

Lebron?
Bosh?
Wade?

There is one guy in that list with ice in his veins, and another guy that is gonna complain when he doesnt get to be the savior.

A successful basketball team is a team. Too many “stars” will kill that. 8-6? What a joke.

Not sure about that- not that it matters to me his politics- but I was at the Bruce Springsteen concert at Dodger stadium back in ‘03 and ‘Riles’ and his wife were next to us in the pit and he was escorted back to hang with Bruce after the show (maybe he is a RINO ???) . That said Riley will not come down to coach that team in its present form he would have nothing to gain as the Heat have no chance of winning anything this year. The lakers would sweep them and there are obviously other teams in the east that would dominate them.

I’m a fan of Riley too. He’s a Kentucky Wildcat Alum. Phil Jackson is just throwing words around to get Lebron/Bosh/Riley/Wade/Spoelstra thinking.
