It should be noted, that in 1940, certain players were not welcome on SEC teams.

Next week, in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, UCLA's offense will feature a couple of players who would probably not be welcome in the SEC: tailback Kenny Washington and wingback Jackie Robinson. Last year, those two put up quite a fight against USC, holding the high-flying Trojans to a 0-0 tie. This year, they'll be licking their chops as they face a far weaker Trojan squad.

Fight on!

Probably why they got beat.

My High School wasn't fully integrated until 1969 and that was the first year we had a half-way decent football team.

Sports enthusiasts across the nation were the first and most authentic Civil Rights advocates.

They wanted to see the best versus the best and to heck with their superfluous biological or social backgrounds.
