Animated Google 'Street View' Directions
Tripgeo ^

Posted on 11/23/2010 11:37:58 PM PST by plinyelder

For all you travelers .. Found this neat site where you put in the start and ending addresses and you get an animated street view map of your destination route.

You can get the standard directions, without the movie if you prefer.

I didn't see anywhere to put the state or zip code so I just put the zip in where I put the addresses and it worked.

There is no amount of money that would pay me to use anything even remotely related to Google. I use Google sharing and all scripts are blocked. Use it at your peril.

Pretty neat. It looks to be almost real time.

a bit buggy. told it to do route with no freeways. took me to freeway. adjusted to walking directions as opposed to cars and still got the freeway. go figure. google would have led me to death. lol. stil. a nice concept. hope they get the bugs out soon. (the call of the 21st century)

Pretty amazing. Only problem is it moves down the highway in real time. A 40 minute trip takes about that long to watch. Plus halfway through the trip it stopped at a bar en route and had a beer and a sandwich. Real bizarre.

The whole thing is rather like the mechanism of a panopticon.
