McLame, as you call him, is the only reason she has a political superstardom. He gave her a stage. He made her a millionaire.

She hasn’t announced herself as a candidate yet, but if she does announce, I agree with you. I personally like to see her give a “State of the Union” type speech on youtube, 10 mins at a time on any given topic. She used to do that while as Governor/or was it while running to be Governor. I saw some clips of it

Part of the resigning her governorship was that before and more so after MeCain nominated her, the left filed relentless unsubstantiated ethics charges against her which her family had to fight off with their moderate finances.

You act uninformed. Her big issues are national security/border control and energy Independence and naturally smaller government, less taxes, less government intrusion and more personal responsibility.

But I think you really know those things and would rather be antagonistic rather than state who you support and why.

“Read her Facebook page.”

Right...

If you start by assuming that a person is ignorant, nothing they do can disprove it. OK, just assume that all her writing is done by someone else, all her speeches are written by someone else, and all of her communications are done by someone else. Forget what a politician says. Look instead at how they governed. Gov. Palin has nearly 20 years in government. She has proven that she believes in smaller government, less taxes, and less spending. She balanced her budgets as governor and reduced her last budget by $1 billion compared to her predecessor.

Gov. Palin will be entering the 2012 election with an incredible record of successes to face Obama’s lengthy record of failures. I’ll go with success.

It's really easy to just dismiss these points out of hand, ignore them as not worthy of a response and not deal with them.

Remind me of this when I'm watching election returns on election day, November 2012. To call your overconfidence foolhardy is, I think, an understatement.

Today the fill in for Mark Levin recalled something a general said when outmanned and outgunned - and she thinks it was brilliant and with Obama would say such a thing “we’re not retreating, we’re attacking from a different direction”.

Seems to me that’s what Sarah said when she resigned as governor. She decided for the good of her state and the good of the overall battle to play on a different field - one in which she didn’t have her hands tied behind her back. If she hadn’t done this we wouldn’t even be talking about her right now, she wouldn’t have raised 10M for conservatives and we may very well not have had the historic conservative tsumani that just drenched the rats.

The context is you being a Romney guy, when not preferring McCain.

To: fieldmarshaldj
Are you going to become head cheerleader now for the Slick Willardbots, Norm ? I’d just like to know.

That one I’ll answer: NO.
I took up McCain’s cause because no one else was doing it. He was a vet, a war hero, and a moderately conservative with lots of governmental experience. It’s over and I’m not doing it again. I like Mitt and see him as a fine presidential candidate for 2012 (especially the way the economy and budgetary affairs are). While I haven’t officially settled on him: 1) I will defend what I see as excessive attacks on him, 2) I will celebrate his successes, and 3) all this whining is driving me closer to him. Afterall - I love an underdog.

Someone remind me. How long was Obama a senator before he quit to run for President?

She is a conservative. That’s why it’s tough.

But as a conservative who would LOVE to see her in the White House, I'd like to see some FReeper deeep thinking and answers on the question.

Where have you been? Asking those questions, that way, in this place, is like criticizing Linda Tripp.

I know the reason her supporters state for resigning. I just don’t think it will fly in a national campaign for President of the United States.

They will be thinking should a I vote for someone that can be run out of office by a bunch of ambulance chasers.

She has 80 % of the GOP...but, it is the independents that are key. She is polling low among them. 35% or less

However it will take more than conservatives to win.

You should quit reading those liberal and RINO push-poll articles.

Perhaps she'll lose the five percent of liberal RINOS, which would leave her with 95% of the registered Republican votes. She'll get about 20% of the registered Democrat votes. And she'll get over 62% of Independent votes.

I really don’t want her to run for President this cycle! She is much more needed in her current role - pushing the Republicans into Conservative positions.

Sarah Palin has two years of major elective office - which is the only type of office that counts for the presidency. There has to be at least 50,000 towns in America with a larger population than Wasilla, AK.

I would probably feel excited about her is she went on the Rachel Maddow show or Keith Olbermann show...

You think she's going to waste her time giving those two leftist hacks ratings?

But we need another 21% from so called independents most of whom are not very politically aware and who get their information from the MSM.

Newsflash...that conduit is eroding more and more every day.

Just how did those Indies vote in 2010? Seems like they voted the Palin/Tea Party way and against Obama. I guess that means we should nominate some moderate.
