What do you think of the Ruger Mk III for target practice?

You can’t go wrong with any Ruger .22 auto. For that matter any Ruger .22 period.

The only bad part of the .22 autos is when you first try to strip it for cleaning, you will curse the day Bill Ruger invented it.

Somebody elses Mark III is a great plinking pistol. Using your own is a pain, they are complicated to field strip and clean. I rarely shoot mine for that reason, and when I do, I have to go back and read the instructions because it is not intuitive.

Good shootin’ iron! I have 2 of the Mark IIs

Ammo is cheap (relatively), so you can develop basic skills without getting beat up by recoil or going broke.

Buy extra mags - .22 cal runs through those fairly quick...

I have recently purchased one, very accurate. Also corrected tendency to anticipate when using 9mm.
Ammo is inexpensive,Wally world has 550 rds for approx 20.00.
