I’m also looking for a deer rifle for my boys, perhaps I should start another thread.

I did not think about that.

Great idea. I don’t care for it but is may be the right choice for her.

The Taurus Judge is easy to load, shoot, and carry. I have several semi’s but women like to keep their nails done and can break one or two loading the clips, especially gals who are new at shooting. Also remember if she does not shoot much she does not have to remember to chamber a round with a revolver. Some ranges allow you to rent different types of semis or revolvers. Check in your area to see if you have those options and let her try out a Judge. In my area a local sports store just put them on sale. I’m gonna go get one with the pink grip as a Christmas present to myself!
I’m sure you will get her the perfect fit that she will enjoy, main thing is to let her get the feel of several to see what fits her hand. But don’t let anyone tell you that gals can’t shoot them because it just aint so. You shoot one and you will love it!

New Glock 19 Draw & Shoot Video by Hickok45

I'd pickup a 20 Gauge mossberg or Remington 570 with 00 Buckshot & Slugs as well.

The Kimber Custom II is one of the best buys in the entire gun universe.

After looking at the the gun pr0n, I have a question.

Don't you feel the least bit concerned about having a flashlight mounted to the firearm? I know that one flashlight technique is to suddenly illuminate the perp at night and blind them while you have an extra second to identify the target, but doesn't the flashlight sort of encourage an anti-pattern for shooting, and that is, "don't point the weapon at anything you aren't willing to destroy right now"?

I know the urge to wave the weapon and light around in a search pattern is strong, but at the same time one is panning and scanning, they are also pointing the muzzle at what may be a loved one in the search for that Bump-in-the-Night

Remington 770. Love it, except the butt plate. After only a few rounds, I was flinching and thinking this cheap ass piece of rubber must have come off a tractor.

It was throwing my rounds off by 5”, due to the flinching. It really hurt and I was surprised, since I had shot many other weapons with steel butts and no problemo.

Went and got a slip over butt extender and got my groups back down to 1” but I hated that cheap ass looking slip over.

Spent $70 on a nice extender and it just plain feels better.

I am thinking about getting a cheek weld, as I don’t care for how I have to shift around to get it right.’

But, other than that, I am now happy with the setup and my Leupold Mark 4 4.5-14x40mm. (couldn’t stand that cheapass scope that came with rifle. Tossed it in storage, if I ever neeeeeed it. Not)

All my scoped rifles have the Leupold Mark 4 4.5-14x40mm. You have to take some stock Bushnell POS and compare it the Leupold. Not even a contest.

The Leupold grabs more light at dusk and night than the junky Bushnell and I like to make adjustments with my fingers not some coin or screwdriver.

Not cheap though but damn near the best.

Love it!

I go backpacking in bear country with a Taurus Tracker in .41 magnum. Titanium frame, lightweight. If the bullet won't get em, the BOOM will.

Man that gun seems loud.

Ported barrel looks cool in the evening.

Never thought about the slide issue for a woman before.

1-Join your local gun club
2-take NRA Basic pistol-borrow pistol
3-take NRA personal protection course-borrowed pistol
buy gun
if you don't do this previous suggestion go to a commercial range and take a few lessons renting various guns and find one you and your wife can feel comfortable running well-then buy the one you like and can afford budgeting two times the guns cost for ammo and training.

And remember a pistol is what you use to fight your way back to your carbine

I will inherit a 50 caliber buffalo gun, used in the 1800’s by calvary, short, designed to shoot with one arm, have shot it before, only had one arm left...prefer a desert eagle 50 if I’m going there..

Never miss an excuse to buy another gun. yeah honey this gun will have less recoil, honest!

Yep. That's how I ended up with one of these:

It has less recoil...less recoil than an Abrams tank.

;^)
