Yep, those were great times. We had to go see good concerts to take our minds off the fact that Jimmy Carter was President and the economy was in severe stagflation mode.
You know, when Carter was POTUS I was just a kid. I worked at a gas station when we had to turn people away with less then half a tank or if they had an even plate on an odd day....I just trodded on like there were no worries.....by the time I was 20-21 I was making good money as an office manager/sales rep for a die casting company whilst the Ayatollah was overtaking Iran.
I guess my point is that even when everything for that time was looking grim, it didn't effect me like it does now that I'm aware of what is happening.......good Lord, I sure miss those days!
I remember "going to concerts". Moody Blues, Rolling Stones, Cat Stevens, Beautiful Day, Steve Miller Band, Supertramp, ZZ Top...LOL
The one I remember enjoying the most was Lynyrd Skynyrd. They really put on a good show. I even got up on stage with Rod Stewart back when. He let some of us in the front row climb up and dance. I still listen to a few of his songs on occasion.
