This thread wouldn’t be complete w/o a little Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young:

Can’t have Stevie Ray Vaughan w/o Pride and Joy:)

Damn, I saw Rush play in the early 80's at the venue where he was killed, terrible loss.

Great place for a concert though.

Remember John Denver's, Grandma's Feather Bed? LOL!

Yep. I have most of his origional albums. I like putting the Capo up on the third fret and playing Berkley Woman. Some of his best music. Berkley Woman was a Bryan Bowers song I think and Denver's musical arrangement was perfect. I saw him in concert when I was about 14 I guess. I saw Bob Seger in concert when I was about 25 and lucked into some floor seats near the front. While I was in the Navy sometime in 1978 I think a buddy had two tickets to The Eagles concert in Norfolk. "Lifes been good" had just came out.

Terrible loss, indeed. My dh's favorite group is Rush. He's seen them in Little Rock, Shreveport and New Orleans. He says to tell ya, "their best song is, The Trees." I like that one too:)

Someone upthread mentioned Three Dog. For some stupid reason I missed their concert in Monroe, LA in the early 70s. I’ve always regretted that...

That's a great song as well. Also - Voodoo Chile; with Stevie sounding more like Hendrix than Hendrix.

What amazing music we had in our past, seems it died in the early 90's

Yes it did. What happened?

Stevie Ray Vaughan - Wham.

I posted it in last Saturday's Canteen Music Thread. I'm not at home with access to all my linky stuff so you'll have to cut and paste.

I can play some of his songs. Edmund Fitzgerald is the easiest. The other day at a second hand book and music store I bought the DVD Dark side of the moon and watched it. I noticed the chords for Brain Damage. Very basic. I drive my wife up the wall now LOL. I can't read music. At one time I could when I took piano lessons for a couple years but I can't remember now. I usually play "Over by the window" and my wife helps me out. :>} The dog even goes in the other room and I'm just playing an accoustic.

what does dh stand for?

Dear husband. And he is dear:) Please don't feel dumb for asking. You wouldn't believe how long it took me to figure out what FWIW stood for! LOL!

The last concert we ever went to was a Bryan Adams concert in Little Rock in about '86. The Hooters were the warm up and we decided they were a better act than Bryan Adams was.

CVA - I tried picking a banjo, but it ended up the banjo was really just picking @ me:) My brother is excellent on the acoustic guitar, my mom plays the piano and a dulcimer and I play a hammered dulcimer. One of my sister's also plays the guitar and my other sister plays a mandolin. Needless to say, we enjoy getting together and jamming:)
