In an effort to fend off a growing resistance from passengers ahead of the busiest travel day of the year, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa wants the 1.5 million people expected to pass through Los Angeles International Airport that there’s nothing unsafe about controversial body scanners.
To show just how easy it is to be scanned, Villaraigosa twice stepped inside a scanner Monday as reporters and photographers watched.
The mayor says the scans exposed him to no harm and he didn’t feel his privacy had been invaded when an image of his body was projected on a computer screen viewed by security personnel.
A backlash to the machines and new pat-down searches has developed as the Thanksgiving travel period looms.
The mayor did not go through the new pat-down procedure, which is also being criticized as invasive.

A member of congress said he has seen the ACTUAL way the images look....the congressman said the real images are classified and they are the equivalent of porn.

Oh wait. That’s not what happened at all. Instead, Mayor Villaraigosa, clutching his history degree from UCLA, allowed himself to be photographed in a TSA scanner, declaring, “See, it didn’t kill me. It must be safe. Now you try it.”
I tell you this is funnier than stupid pet tricks.
Well yippee for Mr. V. I wonder if he’ll volunteer to take the first TSA cavity check to show us all just how noninvasive and nonhumiliating that is.
Nobody ever accused this guy of being smart ~ Xray, Smeckray ~ ‘at’s what he’d say.

Actually, Villaraigosa’s wife dumped him when she found out he was ridin dirty with a Univision reporterette.
