Sadly, that's a vast improvement over the original drawing of D-12, which until the lawsuits was at times as thin as a highway lane in order to create a majority black district. It used to look like this when first drawn by the Democrats in charge of the NC legislature:
I don't expect that to last. Republicans are now in charge of both houses.
