“all hunters across the nation are all bloodthirsty redneck killers, right? Since you had a bad experience in west Tennessee, that means a teenage girl in Wisconsin must be cut from the same cloth, right? Or even me, in SW Idaho...I must also be a bloodthirsty poacher, too, I guess.”
I said that the harvesting of a deer is fine, for those that get the thrill, but 3 in one day is excessive, and I question someone that gets their jollies out of killing that much.
I never said that ALL are bloodthirsty redneck poachers,
but maybe YOU are. I have plenty of friends that are “sportsmen hunters”.
>>>...but 3 in one day is excessive...<<<
Because you say so????
Your opinion is just that, and I think misguided.
If it's within the law, what's the problem? What's your acceptable limit on daily pheasant hunting or say fishing? More than one is greed in your book?
Sez you, a non-hunter who lives in a completely different part of the country. Who are you to tell someone in another state what's "excessive" or not? Are you on the Wisconsin Fish and Game board? Are you a Wisconsin state legislator? Do you live in Wisconsin? If not, why don't you let the good folks up there determine what's "excessive" and what isn't.
"I have plenty of friends that are sportsmen hunters.
Gee, I bet you don't opine too often with them about what's "excessive", do you? Because if you did, they'd likely tell you what the rest of us have today...that if it's legal, what's the big deal? That the only thing that makes it "excessive" is your tender sensitivity?
"I never said that ALL are bloodthirsty redneck poachers, but maybe YOU are."
Oh, but you certainly implied as much when you launched into your anecdote about your farm east of Memphis. Your personal "sore spot" has nothing to do with someone shooting three bucks on opening day, it has to do with poachers on your land. Did any of them shoot three bucks in one day on your land? No, your problem is that they were on your land, hunting without your permission, which I certainly understand would upset any property owner. Yet, you equated the legal harvesting of three deer by a teen girl in Wisconsin, with the redneck poachers from Memphis. What she did has nothing to do with what they did, yet you connect the two scenarios like they're related. Therefore, any rational person could infer that you harbor a low opinion of hunters, and probably a good amount of resentment. By implication, you painted her with the same broad brush with which you painted them, and likely the rest of us as well. Checkmate.
You know, on second thought, I doubt you really have any friends that are hunters. Anyone who thought so little of me as to put my legal hunting on the same level of poaching would definitely not be on my Christmas card list. Your claiming to have friends that are hunters reminds me of the old protest, "I'm not racist...I have a lot of friends that are black!"
