I never watch the show, but it seems there are a lot of freepers interested in the topic, and I didn't find this article posted anywhere

I ran across this interview with the show's producer. He addresses the voting issue, but what I thought was more interesting was his defense of Bristol. He comes off as very sympathetic, and has an admiration for her.

If you are a fan of the show, or even just the politics of it, click the link and read the entire interview.

I've never watched the show, but the guy's definitely right here:

Watching someone develop stage presence is actually quite fascinating to watch

It’s nice to see someone on ABC with a spine for a change..I am glad to see that he comes out defending Bristol and he is absolutely right. Every week Brandy’s voting went down, people were just voting for her and after Mak went on his little hissy fit tirade I knew he was finished

What difference does it make? Isn’t the show about getting votes from the audience? Don’t all the participants have supporters who vote for them? The left are such frickin’ idiots, they will say or do anything to make Palin and her children look bad even if what they say makes no sense what so ever.

Yeah, I’m watching Geraldo tonight and he’s talking about it. Apparently conservatives are “stuffing the ballot box” and he’s wondering if it will impact the credibility of these reality shows. Yikes! All I can say is it would be nice if he showed that much concern over the real ballot-box stuffing in the real elections. (sigh)

Bristol is a good dancer -- and she's never played the race card. She's 1/16 Eskimo (on Todd's side) -- about the same amount that Obama is black. Maybe everyone who complains about her success in DWITS are Racists!. (Gosh, that was easy to do. No wonder liberals like to play the race card so often.)

Seriously, she's obviously a natural athlete, and a very quick study. She started off very well, and has improved remarkably, over the course of the competition.

A freeper informed me about Bristol being on the show.
The show has the highest ratings ever people are shooting tv’s and sending white powder to her i love it when the libs throw little hissyfits....

Everyone’s acting like she’s getting together with Dick Cheney, trying to start an evil empire. It’s crazy. It’s a dancing competition. She’s a lovely girl. Give her a break!

Good one, LOL! I love the sight of lib heads exploding in the morning, noon, or night, heck, anytime at all. Go Bristol!

I am not a particular fan of DWS, but when I have the time I do happen onto the DWS threads and am amused in a fun way by some of the posts.

It is very strange to me to have the ‘Dirty Dancing’ movie star as a competitor against a complete novice... but I heard/read that next DWS will promote ‘queer’ dancing by a woman on woman pair...

It does appear that Miss Bristol has worked very hard and demonstrates a good work ethic to have a producer speak out on her behalf...

Thanks for posting the link. It’s refreshing to see something so positive about Btistol after all the frenzy this week.

I’m not much of a fan of Karl Rove anymore but his organizing and delivering millions of votes for Bristol each week is amazing. Bush is also lending a hand but his involvement needs to remain hidden. /s

I hold out some hope that the frothing, rabid over-reactions of the left will tip things in Sarah Palin’s favor by the time the election comes...if she runs.

Without Bristol the show would loose a lot of its audience..
I watch the show a bit totally because of that girl..
And turn the show off or switch channels after her performace..
I am not alone.. Bristol brings ratings.. i.e. MONEY..

Has anybody mentioned that hersupport might not be political;it might be single moms (there are many) or those who want a new mom to have some money?

I’ll say it again. The same people who like DWTS like American Idol. They are hypocrites - they have no problem with the public voting for certain Idol people, yet somehow have a major problem with them doing the same thing on DWTS? Please.

Geraldo was giving tips on voting. He said you can call in your vote from your phone, cell phone; vote on line from ALL your computers, even if you don't have a legitimate e-address.

One thing is certain, it isn’t Bristol’s fault she is still on the show.

She has improved. Maybe she shouldn’t be in the finals on dancing skill, but this show sets the rules and Bristol has done the job asked of her.

The rest, like voting, wasn’t set up by her.
