You know what? The marriage went kaput, but I’ll bet your daughter will always remember that *you* came through for her (as you always have, right?). Her memories of that marriage may be sour but Mama had her back. Time well spent, even though. :)

FWIW, I used to sew professionally (theater) and I made my own wedding dress — also hand-beaded, all silk, long train, the works, thinking I’d pass it on to my daughter someday. Well, we have two boys! And we’re too old for more kids now. I have no idea where the dress will end up, besides my closet. Maybe one of our boys will marry someone who needs a dress. (Or not! LOL!)
